Visit HADES
A visit to HADES is always possible for specialized groups active in the field of geological disposal or radioactive waste management. These groups can make a technical visit to the HADES underground laboratory upon request.
Are you such a group? Please fill out our webform and we will get in touch!
Please note that a visit to HADES is only possible during office hours from 09h30 - 12h00 and 13h30 - 16h00. There is a maximum of 24 visitors per time slot. We are closed for visits in July and August for general maintenance works.
Would you like to know more about the research on geological disposal and radioactive waste management in general? Tabloo, the visitor and meeting centre about radioactivity, radioactive waste and research of nuclear applications, is open to the general public. It is located a stone's throw from EURIDICE in the Dessel municipality, right next to the surface disposal site and Belgoprocess. At Tabloo, you can find a fascinating state-of-the-art exhibition on radioactive waste management, with a special focus on research into geological disposal of high-level and/or long-lived waste. An extraordinary lift experience takes you to HADES and immerses you in the virtual reality of a real disposal facility. Curious? Take a look at www.tabloo.com and start planning your visit!
Do you have a special interest in the underground and did Tabloo not quench your thirst for knowledge? We get it, we love it here too! From 2026 onward, a visit to HADES for the general public is organised at various times throughout the year by Tabloo. You can register there for a visit, more information will follow soon!
